W Cover...Kristin Stewart

This month the lovely Kristin Stewart graced the cover of W magazine. This shoot is quite a departure from the way Kristin is usually captured; she looks glamorous, feminine and comfortable. Thank god someone finally figured out that she doesn't have to be styled like a tomboy, just because that's how she often styles herself. In the accompanying interview, she speaks frankly about her life, her career and her fame. I think this is one of the best interviews of Kristin ( and the best photoshoot) I have ever read, it is completely honest and she curses through the whole thing. I don't know why but it just makes celebrities seem so much more personable to me when they swear, it's refreshing.

Shopping Spree... Spring/ Summer 11/12

RAFW S/S 11 Collections from left: Lover, Bec & Bridge, Rachel Gilbert.
I love Australian fashion;
I love it in winter, I love it in Autumn, I even love the somewhat ho-hum cruise collections; but when I really fall for our unique, easy going style, is at the birth of the Spring/Summer collections... Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

It's a time when designers can really let loose and experiment- it's summer, it's a celebration and it's darn hot. It's the only time of the year when the clothing can be chic without the functional constraints of the cooler seasons. Needless to say, the designers go all out, and 2011 was certainly no exception...

...hundreds of models stormed the RAFW runway; glowing with their mandatory spray tans, in designs that truly captured the essence of Australia's favourite season. The breadth of the designers intimate relationship with colour, patterning and texture came into full effect, breathing a sigh of relief into the fashion industry after months of dreary winter style.

Of course, every season has it's hero pieces, the items that every self respecting fashion addict wants in their wardrobe, and the items that you'll still love, even when the rest of the collection is in the sale bin. So before you add to cart, consider these RAFW staple looks for a little wardrobe longevity that your bank balance will thank you for ...

  The White Blazer:
This piece was the true standout of the season, with most designers having a crack at their own version. There's a style and a price point to suit everyone, and you can even wear them all year round- talk about getting your money's worth!

The Colourful Print:
With all the designers embracing colourful prints, what better way is there to herald the new festive season. Can't choose? Bec & Bridge, Zimmermann and Sara Phillips are all safe options for a beautiful, fashion forward print this season.

Lace & Embroidery:
If you're a little colour-shy, why not try some intricate detailing for an eye-catching effect that is sure to compliment all of your summer basics. Check out Lover for some timeless lace work- they do it every season so they know what they're on about!

Rose Byrne in Christian Cota...

.....Aaaaaannd I'm back people!
After a long and impromptu Polloola hiatus, Rose Byrne has lured me back into the game.
Looking stunning, as per usual, at the Australian premiere of her new movie "Bridesmaids" ( which I am TOTALLY psyched about btw), Rose wore a red draped dress from Christian Cota's Fall 2011 collection.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
The mix of the maroon clutch and bright red dress is such an unexpectedly perfect combo...
This is how you do HOT in cold weather people- take notes!

Shop Front...Izabel & Sebastian

If you're a Brisbane native and you haven't yet visited South Bank boutique Izabel & Sebastian then you are in for a treat. The newly renovated store is a great place to stock up your winter wardrobe with a stellar lineup of hot young Australian and International designers. With labels like Melissa, Nude, Bec & Bridge, Style Stalker and Brisbane's largest collection of House of Harlow- Izabel has all of your favorite labels, including the ones you don't know about yet.

And for those who, like me, are shop shy and afraid of judgy shop assistants, don't stress, you won't find any bitchy looks here. The lovely shop assistants are part of Izabel's charm...
